Mercenary Publicity was set up in 1998 by Kas Mercer who has 30 years experience in PR. She worked for Mercury Records for 10 years (6 as Head of Press), responsible for the Vertigo, Fontana, Mercury, Def Jam, Def American & Talkin’ Loud labels. She was personally responsible for such diverse artists as Elton John, Dire Straits, Kiss, Roni Size, Johnny Cash, Warren G, Foxy Brown, INXS, Tears For Fears, and Metallica amongst others.
Mercenary Publicity specialise in National and Online PR within the UK although we also have good connections with regional press, Radio and TV. We are proactive and creative in our approach, and committed to, and passionate about our clients – most of whom we have represented for many years. We currently represent established artists as well as new acts, and target all media from mainstream to niche.
Mercenary has helped launch the music careers of Jamie Cullum, (for whom we were shortlisted for a Music Week PR Campaign of the year award) Juliette Lewis and her band The Licks, Fightstar and Har Mar Superstar. We also launched the then newly reformed Dinosaur Jr and My Bloody Valentine media campaigns.
